Went to Executive Airport to take a flight that had been a Christmas present from the family. Even though it was an introductory flight, son Thomas broke the news that I'd taken him numerous times on flights to various places. With that out of the way we went out to the Cessna 172 that looked a little worse for wear. The instructor pilot, Brashear, was comfortable with the airplane and we soon were underway. He asked me if I wanted to taxi the plane. I pretty much held it on the center line with the rudder pedals (which were stiffer than I remembered). He gave me the liftoff and climb speeds and I got the bird into the air. We climbed to 3,000 feet and he said the plane was mine. I did a few turns to avoid the skydiving areas and with no other planes in the sky we tooled around and I did some Dutch rolls and turns and then with numerous airplane anecdotes from both Brashear and me we enjoyed being in the air. Then it was time to head back. Brashear did the landing and I taxied us back.

Thomas was waiting for us and we all walked back to Executive Flyers and then it was off to meet my brother for a coffee klatch. Here's a photo taken by Thomas before the flight.

G.O.Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09839758585397208186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5393751513347045526.post-71602289378176846952024-02-09T10:37:00.000-08:002024-02-09T10:37:13.223-08:00February 9, 2024
The first draft of The Patas Affair is finished. It's now passed 30K words. Kurt has not seen any Patas monkeys since dissecting the dead juvenile. Even though he's not had any luck with living Patas he's put stripes on a couple of trees to use the distance between them to time the speed of a Patas when they run past the two trees. Ted has determined that the spy machine uses the same frequency as his cell phone, but he's told Kurt that even though he gets some kind of signal it has to be in code since it's unintelligible to him. Will Adam clarify what is being translated by the machine?
G.O.Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09839758585397208186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5393751513347045526.post-20972601114452968222023-11-28T13:06:00.000-08:002023-11-28T13:06:43.318-08:0011/28/2023
Arrivaing in the heart of Africa, Kurt Lederer and Ted Simmons are overwhelmed with the sights and sounds of Bangui, Central African Republic. I'm a little over 11K into the story. Not exactly a topsy-turvy tale, but there are elements of disorder involved. A graduate student with a grant to study Patas monkeys in the Central African Republic finds a topsy-turvy aspect to his grant. The grant's administration has been shifted from the National Science Foundation to the CIA. What follows is the stuff of nightmares.
G.O.Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09839758585397208186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5393751513347045526.post-7207769279209587872023-09-30T08:31:00.003-07:002023-09-30T08:33:42.179-07:00September 30, 2023
Akasha II is out in both digital and paperback formats. Denise's life has become even more complicated. She has ongoing health problems that could be related to the blackout she experienced at the art gallery when attending the opening of her friend's art show. She and Sam Abbott have become even closer. Christine Harbord is now a guest of Mary Elizabeth Scott at the Chela House. There are only four days until the twenty-fifth anniversary celebration at the Mark Hopkins hotel. Will it be a very happy event? That question is central to the denouement of the sequel.
G.O.Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09839758585397208186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5393751513347045526.post-66157590451607247212023-07-12T12:20:00.003-07:002023-07-12T12:20:43.953-07:00July 12, 2023
Leapt past 50K on Akasha II. Sam has accepted Denise as his twin flame. Now all that's required for them to formalize the relationship is for Mary Elizabeth to give her blessing. The twenty-fifth anniversary party preparation is well underway. Denise is going to accompany the Names on their golf game at Kezar and she's surprised that Garth has volunteered to be the fourth player in the foursome.

G.O.Dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09839758585397208186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5393751513347045526.post-6208057979210988412023-06-15T17:32:00.002-07:002023-06-15T17:32:38.610-07:00June 15, 2023
Zipped past 30K on the Akasha II story.
