Crime and Punishment


Fyodor Dostoevsky had three “R’s” in mind when he began Crime and Punishment; and they weren’t readin’, writin’ and ‘rithmetic. Rather they were the alliterative name of his protagonist: Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov.

Richard Reeves added the Berlin Airlift to his many investigative books. He provides names and places to add to the informative nature of his look at how the Allies fed the residents of Berlin after the Soviets decided to blockade the city.

Dracula


Even though Bram Stoker is only a memory his seminal work about a Transylvanian Count has entered the realm of iconic names, dates and places.

The story is undoubtedly familiar to most if not all movie goers, but the book is probably not quite on the tip of the tongue as is the movie. Some readers will imagine Bela Lugosi as the evil Count. Others will see any of the countless portrayers of the man from Transylvania.
