This message is for all British
and European buyers. The VAT will devolve to the buyer on Jan 1, 2015. Before
that date the VAT was calculated on the seller’s place of business. For some this
will increase the price of a book by 20%, for others not quite so much. So if
you want to buy any of my books, either paper or digital, now is the time to do
so to avoid the extra cost.
I'll use this platform to review books I've read (and movies I've seen and are still worth watching), advertise my published books, say a few words about writing and reveal something of my world.

Probe: The Movie
If you're a movie buff, you won't want to miss this script. Reads like a novel and with a bit of imagination gets you through the cut-to's and scene changes. Here's the blurb from the back cover:
It's available from Createspace, Amazon and Kindle. You can read more by clicking on the image of the cover below:
- Los Angeles and its nemesis, the San Andreas fault provide the setting for this sci-fi adventure.

- Angelinos wonder whether their usual way of life will be destroyed by the determined and dangerous alien. Only a desperate gamble can eliminate the threat.

Composting
Back in the day composting meant a trip to the chicken coop
for their leavings and some hay or rice hulls to layer the manure in a 3 by 3-foot
wire cage. The smell was enough to gag a maggot. Today, however, there’s a
better way to compost. This tumbling compost container is one of many designs. It keeps the odor to a minimum, the flies at bay and effort to a once a day spin
of the device. The recommended load is one part leaves or dry sawdust to two
parts grass clippings or kitchen waste. With that and six trowels of a compost
mix it’s a matter of spin and wait. After 19 days the compost in one side was ready. It’s
definitely worth doing, not only to save money on buying compost but being
smart about using kitchen waste and grass clippings.

Duel at Sea II
After thinking about what happened to the crew of the Blaylock, I decided that Frank Berg had not run his course as a novel character. The result is a sequel to Duel at Sea named Duel at Sea II. If you want more on this new adventure check out the book by clicking on the image below (Latest from Create Space) or you can read a few pages by going to Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Duel-Sea-William-Behr-Mueller/dp/1500648639/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1406410885&sr=1-1&keywords=duel+at+sea+ii

Another outdoor project
As indicated in my last post, wood does not last forever. And such was the case with a back fence. The neighbor who owns the adjoining property is not interested in contributing to the cost of a rebuilt fence, so my son and I put up stringers and boards to block the aging fence boards of the original fence. It was another two day job, one for the stringers and one for installing the fence boards.

An outdoor project
Wood stairs have a finite life. When the chips and warps appear it's time to replace them. My son and I replaced these treads in a two-day effort. The treads are secured to the stringers with steel right angle brackets (four per tread).
